Private Chef Hire

Jess is an accomplished Private Chef and when she is not cooking for weddings she is cooking for families, hen dos or corporate events and celebrations.

This service can be booked as a stand alone service or added onto a wedding package.

Typical menus are themed sharers or plated fine dining. 

Street food can also be hired for corporate events or larger parties. 

If booked as a separate service Jess travels a maximum of 2 hours from Bishop Auckland unless it is a large event.

Prices start at £55pp for a family style sharer menu and £65pp for a plated meal.

Terms and Conditions

This is only relevant to Private Chef hire and not for Weddings or large events where Street Food or Hot Buffet service is served. 

  • All bookings and services provided by Saving Nemo are subject to the Terms and Conditions described below. By booking with Saving Nemo, you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions.
  • All guests (excluding those with allergies or specific dietary requirements) must select the same menu choices, unless agreed in advance.
  • Jess will travel a maximum of a 2 hour radius from Bishop Auckland (popular areas include The Lake District, Northumberland and Whitby).
  • Prices start from £55pp for family style and £65pp for sit down meal. All quotes are bespoke to factor in preparation time, travel time and other staff required. Additional items Canapes or an additional course can be added for £6pp.
  • The menu is based on a minimum of 6 guests. There is no maximum number of guests. A smaller gathering of under 6 guests is possible but is subject to a minimum booking fee.
  • A 50% deposit is required to secure the booking, with the remaining balance due 2 weeks before the booking date.
  • Cancellations made 4 weeks prior or longer will receive a 100% refund of the booking fee.
  • Cancellations 2-4 weeks prior will receive a 50% refund of the booking fee (please note that if only the 50% deposit has been paid, then no refund will be due).
  • Cancellations made within 2 weeks are non-refundable.
  • Payment is by BACS. Payment by credit card is subject to a 2.6% additional fee.
  • Jess will typically arrive 1-2 hours before guests arrive to set up the table and kitchen, so please ensure that access to the property is provided.
  • All ingredients are sourced by Jess.
  • Minimal food preparation will be done in your kitchen. However, some free space in the fridge and freezer may be required.
  • Jess will cook in the property using the utensils and equipment provided in the property.  All menus are served on the crockery at the property.
  • You can sit back and enjoy a unique meal with your friends and family.  Jess will take care of the clean up, leaving your kitchen spotless at the end of the evening.
  • Jess can recommend tablescape companies and beauty therapists. Please do get in touch if you require an additional service.  Jess does not receive any commission or monetary incentive from this.
  • Wine pairing can be added for an additional fee.
  • From time to time, we may have a photographer with us to capture the magic of the dining experience. Any photos or videos they take are for our use only, perfect for sharing our creations and memories online, and aren’t for guests to use or share without our written permission.
  • We’re always happy to help take group photos on your own phone or camera, just let us know! We ask that these are done after the service has finished, so everyone can relax and enjoy the experience without interruptions.
  • Force Majuere 
    • Neither party shall be liable for any breach of its obligations resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, which may include acts of God, fire, natural disaster, death or serious injury or illness of a close family member, breakdown or car accident, injury or illness of the Caterer personally, war or military hostilities.
    • Each of the parties agrees to give notice immediately to the other upon becoming aware of an event of force majeure and such notice shall contain details of the circumstances giving rise to it.
    • In the event of bad weather, we will attempt to still provide service. This may mean at a different service time, different day, delivery of the food or an alternative caterer. If this isn’t possible then a full refund will be given within 28 days. 
    • In the event of a vehicle breakdown, it may be necessary to push back serving times. We will advise of this with as much notice as possible. No compensation will be given for later serving times. If the vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside, we will endeavour to find another caterer or provide a takeaway from a local establishment. Should the above two options not be possible then a full refund will be given within 28 days.
